FengShui story
In 1904, China was in a turbulent era, during which Hunan experienced drought, widespread famine, and people’s lives were in pain and displacement. Many people, unable to resist hunger, plundered and harmed people’s livelihoods, and society was at a time of poverty and mass theft.
The water source in the rice fields has dried up, cracks have appeared on the cultivated land, not a single blade of grass has grown, and there is no harvest. Even the water in the rivers and ponds has dried up completely. Weeds, bark, and leaves that can be cut off are being eaten by people, and the slaughtered oxen have become emaciated. The once joyful streets suddenly fell silent, with frail elderly people, fleeing women and children all around. The entire Hunan people are living in dire straits, and human weaknesses are evident everywhere. Natural and man-made disasters have occurred in this once prosperous province.

At that time, the most famous master in Hunan was called “No More than Five” because he used the method of “counting plum blossoms” to make predictions, which was very effective. He was also a famous local geomancer and had the most profound knowledge of Feng Shui and fortune telling. Many high-ranking officials and nobles had seen fate and Feng Shui, which were very effective. However, he had a proud personality and predicted based on the number of plum blossom petals, which would not exceed five years. Therefore, people called him “Mr. No More than Five”, so he gained great fame and was highly respected by others. However, in this environment, it was difficult for everyone to protect themselves, so there were not many people who came to visit his business. He also had a difficult life.

Under the pressure of hunger and cold, “”had to cross mountains and valleys to escape. I didn’t know how far I had gone, but finally couldn’t hold on and collapsed to the ground. When I woke up, I was already sleeping in bed. In a daze, I felt like my wounds were being taken care of and my mouth was no longer thirsty. I knew someone was pouring water into my mouth. After a few days of recuperation, his physical and mental health gradually recovered, and he learned that he was saved by a middle-aged couple who were particularly attentive and caring for themselves. In times of famine, food was very coarse, but it still required a middle peasant family to take him in. To take him in, it was also necessary to distribute their already limited food resources. At that time, it required great kindness.

From my conversation with this family, I learned that their owner Mao Shunsheng (Chairman Mao’s father) was their lifesaver. Mao Zedong’s mother was known for her loyalty and simplicity. She was not just an ordinary peasant woman, but also a reasonable and understanding person. Every morning, a boy came over to prepare clean water for himself. From his lively and cheerful speech, I knew that Mao Shunsheng was innocent, lovely, kind-hearted, down-to-earth, and simple. Through laughter, I knew that he was Mao Zedong, Mao Shunsheng’s eldest son. He often accompanies his father, helping to take care of his wounds everywhere, always attentive.

Due to the severe impact on his jaw when he fainted, it was very difficult for him to eat. Although there has been significant improvement now, the family still takes turns feeding him. Every time, they have to trouble others to gently pry open their mouths and spoon him into their mouths one by one, requiring patience. However, they have never heard a word of disdain or been treated negligently. Especially Chairman Mao, this child, often approached him, said innocent childhood words, read interesting novels and stories, which made him also cheerful.

With careful care, the injury gradually recovered. One day, Mao Shunsheng walked up to “No More than Five” and said, “Sir, it seems that this natural disaster will continue for another period of time. If our family wants to escape, it will be difficult, but if you escape alone from Hunan, it will be relatively easy. Therefore, we have prepared some travel expenses and food for you. We hope you can escape this great disaster!

Two days later, “no more than five” bid farewell to everyone in the Mao family. Mao Shunsheng escorted him on his journey, trying to accompany him through the difficult and arduous roads. “No more than five” was deeply moved. This family is kind-hearted and spares no effort in helping others. They have never asked me for anything and are truly good people who show kindness without expecting anything in return. They ask themselves that they have never owed anyone anything. Now that they have met this lifesaver, how can they repay this great kindness in this life?
Finally, I made up my mind and said, “Mr. Mao, please go back. I am ‘no more than five’, and my great kindness to you will be remembered in my heart. As a geomancer, my greatest wish in life is to find a good cave to place the bones of my ancestors, hoping that future generations will achieve something. But my life was also saved by you. Without you, how could I have any descendants? This is the true will of heaven, and it is destined that the blessed land should be left to the blessed person. I am willing to give you the best cave I have found
Hunan Province has beautiful mountains and clear waters. If it weren’t for drought, the trees would be lush and beautiful. To the south of this province, within an hour, several suddenly rising mountains can be seen. The terrain is dangerous, the mountains are high, and they interweave with each other. In the center, there is a mountain that not only does not entangle with other mountains, but also has its own unique temperament and shape. The mountain range is peculiar and extraordinary, with a shape like a woman running towards the moon. It is full of spiritual energy and is full of elegance. One hand is extended upwards, and the posture is lifelike, like the ancient myth of Chang’e flying to the moon, so it is called “Chang’e Flying to the Moon”.Whenever the moon rises to illuminate the night, the head of ‘Chang’e’ is lit up. Every night ‘Chang’e’ absorbs the essence of the moon at this time, so it is the best time to bury the bones of ancestors.

If Mr. Mao can put the bones of ancestors into the cave in Chang’e’s hands on the night of the bright moon in the Mid Autumn Festival on August 15, when the moon is just round and Chang’e is feeling the nimbus of moonlight, the bones of ancestors will be blessed by the essence of the moon, and the heaven and earth will be shocked by it. And one of your sons will become the founding king, end the war, benefit the people, and can be passed on for three generations.
But the son who was favored by his ancestors will immediately change his fate in life. You can notice with a little attention that his destiny is to suffer first and then sweet. Youth will endure pain, but there will definitely be a day of success, respected by millions of people.

However, it is a very difficult road for ordinary people to go to the moon to become gods. The loneliness of a successful person is inevitable. His brothers, sisters and relatives will die early or leave in the future because of his success. This kind of mutual restriction will also move to his wife and children. People who have no virtue will be buried here, and it is more likely that there will be great evil people who disturb the world. Mr. Mao, you can choose for yourself!
After finishing speaking, he slowly led Mao Shunsheng to the dragon vein of “Chang’e Flying to the Moon” and looked up to indicate the burial location. Not exceeding five “sighed deeply and said,” The reason why I myself have been reluctant to put the bones of my ancestors into my cave is because I don’t want my descendants to take risks. All of this, I have witnessed with my own eyes, sir. Your family is kind-hearted and blessed. Blessing can eliminate the hidden disasters of this beautiful hole, but both blessings and misfortunes must be taken risks. Mr. Mao, you need to calculate the consequences carefully!

‘No more than five’ sincerely pointed out the source of the dragon’s hole to the meridians, and reluctantly bid farewell to Mao Shunsheng. On his way home, Mao Shunsheng’s mind was filled with the conversation he had just had, and he couldn’t help but turn back to look. Indeed, he saw a mountain in the shape of “Chang’e Flying to the Moon”, full of magic and leaping alive. He was once again surprised and chose to believe. What he believed even more was that his sons were all kind, and even if Feng Shui had a spirit, becoming a leader would never harm the people. Therefore, he decided to move his father’s bones over on the evening of August 15th.
Mao Shunsheng never revealed this to his family until the Mid Autumn Festival when he quietly slipped out and climbed up the mountain of “Chang’e Flying to the Moon” with his father’s bones. At first, the road was relatively flat, but as we climbed up, it became more abrupt and uneven. We climbed all the way to Chang’e’s waist, and by the time it was late, our whole body was exhausted. Although he usually goes up mountains and down fields, the rocks on this mountain are rugged and the road is rough, making it extremely difficult to move forward. The stones are becoming increasingly strange, peculiar, dangerous, and magnificent. Some shapes are as sharp as three pointed octagons, like uncut gems, shining brightly under the moonlight. When he steps on them, they sound crisp and pleasant. Although he is tired, Mao Shunsheng is still very surprised by the wonder of the mountains. As the moonlight does not shine into the forest, his steps are every inch dangerous. However, in order to rush, he walks quickly and passes through numerous obstacles lightly. But the clothes have been torn apart by thorns and branches along the way, and there are still many scratches on the body
In no time, he walked up to the palm of Chang’e. The moonlight in the sky was perfectly round, shining brightly on Chang’e. He knew it must be midnight, so he didn’t miss the opportunity and quickly buried the bones he brought in Chang’e.

This cave is headed by Xin Long, sitting in the direction of Xin Shan Yi, where Xin is the value symbol and Yi is the merit officer. It conjures up the Thunder Wind Constant hexagram, and the timing of the lesson is as follows: In the year Jiachen, on the day of Xin You in the month of Gui You, this lesson of Shan ordered the great mating of Qi and Qi to reach the person born in 1893 to Chairman Mao, urging the emperor to be summoned.
In an instant, there was a flash in the sky, a tremor on the ground, a loud bang, and the earthquake appeared, like the roar of gods in the sky. Mr. Mao knew that the Feng Shui Bureau had succeeded, and his bones were receiving spiritual energy and the blessings of Feng Shui.

As soon as dawn broke, he went down the mountain and ran home. His family saw him like this and asked him about his whereabouts last night. In order to keep the secret, Mao Shunsheng had to lie and say, ‘Last night there was an earthquake, and I quickly hid in a cave. Today I dared to come out. Did you feel the earthquake yesterday?’? Family members also saw a lightning earthquake last night and then applied medicine to treat his wounds. (According to the geographical records of Hunan preserved at the Beijing Museum of History and Cultural Relics, there was an earthquake in Hunan at that time, but the cause is unknown.)
Mao Shunsheng observed the changes in his children’s lives and soon saw that Mao Zedong had undergone significant changes. He had a mole on his chin and a delicate appearance like a woman. His personality and behavior had undergone significant changes, gradually transforming from a lively and mischievous boy to a bold and elegant young man. He had a deep and passionate love for the country and the nation, and his thoughts had become mature. He was full of passion and idealistic patriotism. He was unwilling to give in and was now an ordinary farmer, willing to devote his entire life to the revolutionary ranks, and do his utmost for the people of the country. With the Communist Party, he participated in organizing peasant uprisings and rural movements, and his excellent conditions were fully utilized through repeated actions and organizations.

But just like what was said about “not exceeding five”, Chairman Mao suffered a lot in the early days. In the four encirclement campaigns, he narrowly escaped death each time, which was a blessing and won the hearts of the people. He led the Red Army to victory every time, but in the fifth campaign, although he received the love and help of the villagers, the enemy’s firearms and number of people were too far apart from his own, so he had to carry out the famous 25000 mile Long March. The process of the Long March was thrilling and exciting, and I personally experienced the sweetness, sourness, bitterness, and spiciness. I deeply tasted the five flavors of life.
These hardships have not been fully endured. During the long years of the Long March, Chairman Mao still suffered from many natural disasters, man-made attacks, hunger and lack of food, numerous wounded soldiers, and lack of equipment, which were common problems. All kinds of hardships and sufferings can be counted as numerous. It was not until the Long March arrived in Yan’an that he had a foundation, his own army, and a safe base. During the Long March, he gained power and laid the foundation for success. Afterwards, after the War of Resistance Against Japan, although Mao shed a lot of blood and sweat, his intelligence and wit were even more vigorous, and his reputation was impressive. After that, the three-year civil war in China completely liberated the Chinese Mainland, enabling people to live and work in peace and contentment. It also helped China to gain a firm foothold in the world through the Korean War and the Vietnam War.

This is Mao Zedong’s feng shui story, most of which can be confirmed by the feng shui of ancestral tombs in Chinese history.
The poet Li Bai, whose ancestral tomb is exceptionally beautiful, symbolizes the outstanding literary talent of his descendants and has become famous throughout the world.
Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang, although his ancestral tomb was simple, had a magnificent feng shui atmosphere, which gave birth to imperial prosperity.
In the late Qing Dynasty, Zeng Guofan’s ancestral tombs were arranged in a pattern of “golden chickens pecking at rice”, which gave birth to powerful officials and flourished for several generations.
The sage Zhu Xi, whose ancestral tomb was shaped like a golden bucket, did not have great wealth or honor, but produced a talented person who was as clever as Confucius.
Wait, Feng Shui is a tool and ability for us to communicate with nature. Applying Feng Shui to our lives in a reasonable way can improve our lives better.
